Cultural Day 10/11/2010

On 10/11/2010 (Wednesday) the Russian student council decided to hold a cultural festival at Kozlovskaya 45.

Among the cultures portrayed at the festival were cultures of Dagestan, Russia, India, and MCSC was given the honor to portray the story of Chinese.

We presented a slideshow about various stuff in China, and 6th year students Chai Chan Sin and Lim Chai Way donned Chinese traditional costumes and served as emcees.

P1000732

A team consisting of MCSC members led by Nicole Thang performed the traditional Chinese fan dance, winning the claps and cheers of many, Russians and foreigners alike.

P1000755

Together with dances, there was also food-tasting buffet. We treated them to our trademark foodstuff – egg tarts and herbal eggs.

 P1000763

Those who participated

MCSC would like to extend their thanks to everyone who participated in this event, or helped in either way.

Statement Regarding General Meeting

Dear MCSC members,

I would like to thank each and every member once again for attending the General meeting held yesterday. I would also like to apologize for the doubts and confusions caused during the meeting.

Firstly, the MCSC t-shirt was proposed yesterday, because we would like to do a survey that how many of our members are interested in purchasing, so that we could estimate the budget for producing them and bargain can be done if we have high demands for the t-shirt.

Next, the football league sponsorship request was approved by all our committee members beforehand before making the donation for 1500 rubles. The main reason for sponsoring this event:

1) This is a Malaysian event. We as a Malaysian Chinese Students Community should support this event in accordance with our aims and objectives laid down by our pioneers.

2) There are MCSC members involved in this event.

3) An official sponsorship request letter was sent to MCSC, it was reviewed by all committee members, financial condition was taken into account by the treasurer and hence, a sum of 1500 rubles were decided by the committee members for this sponsorship.

Lastly, regarding the Chinese New Year celebration planned for 2011, we have confirmed that this event will be organized for all Malaysians in Volgograd; the preparations have started since last summer.

You are most welcome to see me in person or contact me if you have any questions regarding MCSC and our activities. My contact: +79177255221.

Thank you for understanding.

Best regards,

Lee Jiann Woei (president of MCSC 2010/2011)

There will be no Chinese New Year 2010 Celebration, We extend our heartfelt apology

It is with great regret that MCSC Committee has to announce to the Malaysian community that there will not be a general Malaysian Chinese New Year 2010 Celebration.

The planned celebration has been called off due to unavailability of a suitable hall to fit our prosperous number (as of this moment no definitive date when the Hiroshima assembly hall will be completed) and other unforeseen problems and difficulties.

We tender our sincere apology to the Malaysian community. It is our hope that the Hiroshima hall renovation would be completed as soon as possible so that we could gather together and have joint activities again in the near future.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family,
"A happy and successful Tiger year. May you be blessed with good health, wealth and success!"
